Why Would My Child Have ISS? Print E-mail

Image At Landmark Academy, we are dedicated to maintaining a positive and successful atmosphere for our students, however there are times when students choose to not obey the rules or the staff. It is during these occasional instances that we have implemented an isolated classroom called ISS. Students are brought to this room only after numerous attempts from the staff to correct the behavior or actions of the student, and out of respect to other students who take their education seriously and are there to learn. If your child is taken to ISS, generally a parent is called to communicate the behavior, consequence, and time frame.

The following are steps that have been taken if you receive a call regarding your student and ISS:

  1. Verbal Warning
  2. Second Verbal Warning - Name Written on the Board
  3. Held Thirty Minutes After School (Transportation Not Provided)
  4. Receive ISS for a specific time frame (decided by Campus Director)

We are establishing a new atmosphere for our students this year, called learning. Disobedient, disruptive, and disrespectful behavior is not tolerated in this new environment, therefore we ask that you as parents support us with your child in communicating the expectations throughout the 2008-2009 school year.
