he Texas Education Association (TEA) has specific requirements for students upon entering in the 9th grade, which is in addidion to passing the individual TAKS tests. The requirements for graduation are as follows:

English (4 credits):
  • English I
  • English II
  • English III
  • English IV

Math (4 credits):
  • Algebra I
  • Algebra II
  • Geometry
  • Math Models, or Trigonometry, or Calculus

Science (4 credits):
  • Biology
  • Integrated Chemistry and Physics (IPC)
  • Chemistry or Physics
  • 4th Science

Social Studies (3.5 credits):
  • World History
  • World Geography
  • U.S. History Since Reconstruction
  • U.S. Government

Economics (.5 credits):
  • Economics

Physical Education (1.5 credits):
  • Foundations of Personal Fitness
  • Elective
  • Elective

Language other than English (2 credits):
  • Spanish I
  • Spanish II

Health Education (.5 credits):
  • Health Education

Fine Arts (1 credit):
  • Fine Arts, Music, Dance, Theater

Technology Applications (1 credit):
  • Technology Applications

Speech (.5 credits):
  • Communications Applications

Elective Courses (5.5 credits):

The courses above must be completed from 9th to 12th grades and should equal 24 total hours.
